SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The St. Bonaventure women's cross country team finished in 32nd place, while the men's team posted a 31st place result at the National Catholic Invitational at the University of Notre Dame this afternoon.

The host Fighting Irish recorded first place in both the men's and women's races.

Freshmen Caitlin Palmer and Jamie Sullivan led the Bona women, running their way to 88th and 113th place finishes, respectively. Palmer clocked in with a time of 19:55 and Sullivan posted a 20:13.

Rookie Keelan O'Connell crossed the finish line in 21:44, followed by fellow classmate Kimberly Fuller (23:53) in 283rd place. Shortly behind Fuller, sophomore Ashley Sandau completed the 5K race in 23:58 (285th).

Freshmen classmates Tabitha Slachciak (24:34) and Dana Phillips (25:41) rounded out the Bona runners.

Justin Isaman posted his third straight top finish for the Bonnies after crossing the line in 29:28. On the heels of Isaman, sophomore Casey Krug recorded a time of 29:52 for the second fastest time for the Brown and White.

Sophomores David Herlihy (30:17) and Michael Grosso (30:17) as well as freshman Jimmy Burton (30:22) formed a Brown and White blockade, finishing 198th, 199th and 200th, respectively.

Freshmen Rob Ryer (31:09), Thomas Good (31:17) and Scott Shelters (32:01) as well as senior James Corke (31:35) rounded out the men's side for the Bonnies.

The men's and women's cross country teams will lace up their running shoes next weekend for the Little Three Championship on Saturday, Sept. 22 in Buffalo, N.Y.
