5/8/08 Four-run first frame sends Charlotte past Bonnies The St. Bonaventure softball team's return trip to the Atlantic 10 Championship didn't start as planned on Thursday afternoon as the host 49ers exploded for four runs in the first inning en route to a 4-0 victory in second round action at the Phillips Softball Complex. Due to the Brown and White's loss in their first appearance of this season's tournament, the club will move to an elimination game on Friday at 4:00 p.m. The Bonnies will take on the winner of this afternoon's Fordham and Saint Joseph's contest tomorrow at the 49ers Softball Diamond. 5/9/08 Bricker earns second straight Academic All-District honor After earning a spot on last season's second team, senior Brianna Bricker moved up to the first unit this year as Bricker was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District I first team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The management sciences major has developed into one of the best all-around players in program history at the same time as carrying a cumulative grade point average of 3.92 over four years at St. Bonaventure. 5/9/08 Former Bona catcher garners coaching accolade Former St. Bonaventure softball catcher Amanda Davey has been named the North Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year following her second season in charge at Husson College (Maine). Davey guided the Eagles to a 17-3 mark in conference play en route to the top seed in this season's NAC tournament. (more)
