Sophomore Brianna Bricker is the GoBonnies.com Athlete of the Week for the period ending March 5. In St. Bonaventure's opening games of the 2006 softball season, Bricker had a hand in two Bona wins at the Charleston Southern (S.C.) Tournament. In a 4-3 victory over Oakland, she tossed 2-2/3 innings of relief en route to the first save of her career. Bricker then hurled a complete game the next day against UNC Greensboro, holding the Spartans to just one run while fanning seven in a 7-1 win. In all, Bricker compiled 10-2/3 innings of work on the mound, allowing just one earned run and striking out 10. The 5-foot-10 sophomore from Albion, Pa., also excelled at the plate, recording a hit in all but one game. Bricker finished 7-17 (.411) with four runs scored and a home run over the five-game span. She turned in her best performance against Oakland, going 3-3 with a double and a run.
