The St. Bonaventure softball team snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 5-1 win in the first of two contests against Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday afternoon before falling to the Mount 3-1 in game two. The Bonnies moved to 2-8 on the season.
Sophomore ace Sherri Thompson notched her second victory of the season to start the afternoon, while freshman Sarah Signore tossed a no-hitter through seven innings in the club's second action of the day before the Mount notched three runs in the eighth to even the series.
Senior Andrea Swanger led the Bonnies with six hits during the doubleheader.
The Brown and White return to action on Friday, Feb. 29 for a pair of contests in the second edition of the Florida Gulf Coast Spring Break Invitational. St. Bonaventure begins with Saint Francis (Pa.) at 10:00 a.m. prior to a third meeting with Mount St. Mary's at noon.
