Bonnies fall to Fordham on Senior Day
Nov. 4, 2007
ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure women's soccer suffered a 1-0 loss to Fordham on Sunday afternoon in its season finale at McGraw-Jennings Field. The Bonnies conclude their season with an overall mark of 5-12-2, including a 2-8-1 record in the Atlantic 10. The win solidifies at least the third seed in next weekend's Atlantic 10 Tournament for the Rams. Fordham finished the A-10 regular season slate with a 7-1-3 record, good for 24 points. Prior to the start of the game, the Bonnies honored seniors Jessica Bartock, Kelly Gregory, Jacquee Parmiter, Kristin Sotak, Pam Stottele and Hannah Tigh. Each of them was inserted into the starting lineup. The Rams tallied the lone goal of the game in the 7th minute as Kim Boulous beat Bona keeper Amanda Prestigiacomo, who had made a move to come out of the net. Boulous touched it over the out-stretched arm of Prestigiacomo and into the upper right corner. St. Bonaventure managed seven shots and a few quality scoring chances but were unable to beat keeper Elisabeth Roald. For the game, Fordham held a 20-7 edge in shots, including a commanding 13-2 margin in the second half.
Freshman Nicole Markert relieved Prestigiacomo in the second half and kept the Rams out of the net with five saves. |
