4/24/08 Preston named A-10 Defensive Player of the Year; Five Bonnies earn All-Conference honors Senior Eboni Preston has been named the Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year to highlight a quintet of Bonnies that earned All-Conference accolades from the league office on Thursday. With Preston's Defensive Player of the Year accolade also comes a spot on the All-Conference first team along with classmate Kimberly Ross. Fellow senior Brenna Houghton found her way onto the second team for the second consecutive season, while freshman Christine Hanley became the third Bonnie to make the All-Rookie team in its three-year existence. 4/20/08 Seniors send Bonnies to 17-9 win in season finale Playing in the final game of their collegiate careers, St. Bonaventure's senior class tallied a combined 10 goals to lead the Bonnies to a 17-9 Atlantic 10 victory over La Salle on Sunday afternoon at McGraw-Jennings Field. Brenna Houghton and Kimberly Ross led the senior charge with seven points each. Both finished with four goals and three assists. Three of Houghton's four goals came off an assist from Ross. Not to be outdone by her offensive classmates, senior Eboni Preston (pictured) turned away 16 shots in her final game in cage. (more)
4/18/08 UMass gets the best of women's lacrosse After taking a two-game lead into halftime, UMass notched the first five goals of the final frame en route to a convincing 12-7 win over St. Bonaventure in a vital Atlantic 10 contest on Friday afternoon. The loss officially eliminates the Bonnies (3-10, 1-5 A-10) from earning a berth into the A-10 Tournament, stopping a streak of two consecutive postseason appearances. On the flipside, the Minutewomen improve to 4-2 league play and clinch a spot in conference's four-team tournament field. (more)
