Snake Eyes - Entry 1

Dec. 1, 2006

Editor's Note: Get in an inside look into the Bonnies' 2006-07 season and the life of Priscilla Edwards in this exclusive GoBonnies.com bi-weekly feature written by the junior point guard. Follow along as Priscilla a.k.a. "Snake" gives you a full court look from her eyes... Snake Eyes.

What's up all and welcome to my diary.

When I first was asked to do a diary I was skeptical, I thought who wants to hear about my life. Believe it or not, I'm a pretty boring person. I like to stick to the same routines which include (in no specific order), sleeping, playing ball, class, and my favorite of them all, eating! Anyways, for those of you who don't know me allow me to introduce myself. My name is Priscilla Edwards but everyone calls me Snake. Now, Snake is a bball nickname that I picked up from my AAU coach whose name happens to be ... take a guess. Give up? Hammer-Marvin Hammer Stevens to be exact (What up Hammer!). Now, I know your thinking what's the odds of a guy named Hammer naming me Snake. But I'll have you know Hammer was a legendary basketball player in his day. He ran the point guard for a guy nicknamed Dr.Jay (for those of you who don't know that's Julius Erving). Anyways, I disliked the name at first but after a couple years everyone started to call me Snake, from my teammates to my family and even my teachers, so I grew to like it.

I have a lovely mother named Comfort (Hey Ma!) and two older sisters, Yvette and Michelle (How u doin?). I'm from New York City more specifically the great HARLEM WORLD (Yes, it's a world in itself). For those of you that don't know about Harlem. Google it baby. It's the home of the Apollo Theater, the great poet Langston Hughes, the Harlem Renaissance, the chicken noodle soup dance, and yes the man that brought you the song and phrase "BALLIN", Jim Jones. People from the city tend to have a different approach or "swag" as I like to call it. We walk, talk, dress, and even dance different. If you get free time you should definitely try to get down to Harlem to see its very unique area rich in culture, history and style.

This entry will serve as an intro to my diary throughout the 2006-07 basketball season. The diary won't necessarily always be about basketball. It will range from everything from basketball, to entertainment, and yes even Politics (I'm a political science major by the way). I hope you'll continue to join me and see life on and off the court through my eyes.

This is Snake Eyes the diary

You think you know...but you have no idea.
