Athlete of the Week
Jan. 2, 2007 Women's basketball freshman forward Dana Mitchell is the Community Bank NA / GoBonnies.com Athlete of the Week for the period ending Dec. 31. Mitchell was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week and also was the MVP of the Wagner Holiday Tournament. The Fairless Hills, Pa. native scored a season-high 22 points to go along with five rebounds in a Dec. 29 win over Cornell. Mitchell then grabbed a season-best nine boards and scored 11 of her 15 points in the second half to lead the Bonnies to a 75-59 win over Rider in the tournament's title game. Mitchell's 10.9 points per game rank second on the team while her 57 percent shooting percentage is third best in the A-10. She has scored in double figures eight times this season, including seven of the last nine games. St. Bonaventure is 5-0 with Mitchell in the starting lineup.
