St. Bonaventure in fifth place heading to final round of A-10 Golf Championship

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. - St. Bonaventure fired a second round 290 (+2) to remain in fifth place after Saturday's second round of the Atlantic 10 Golf Championship, which is being played on the Panther Lake course at Orange County National Golf Center. The Bonnies stand at one-under par 575 for the tournament. They trail Rhode Island (570) by five shots, are seven back of Richmond and eight behind Xavier. Charlotte, which fired a nine-under par 279 on Saturday, is at 561 and holds a six shot lead over Xavier. Senior Josh Anderson shot a bogey-free, four-under par 68 in the second round to lead the Bonnies. Anderson is in second place in the individual standings with a two-day total of 137 (-7), trailing Richmond's Jordan Utley by one shot. Jason Kokrak of Xavier is third at 138. Junior Ben Howe shot an even par 72 on Saturday. Freshman Brennan Payne shot two-over par 74 and sophomore Andy Whalen carded a 75. Sophomore Ryan Swanson shot a 77 that did not count in the team total. Whalen is tied for 18th in the standings with a two-day total of 145. "To stand under par after two rounds of the A-10 Championship certainly is great work by our guys," said Bonnies coach Steve Campbell. "This is a tight race for the top spots and we will have to play our best on Sunday to stay in the top five."
