ANNAPOLIS, Md. - St. Bonaventure posted the fourth-lowest score of Saturday's final round, 293 (+9), and finished in a tie for sixth place out of 15 teams in the Navy Spring Invitational at the Naval Academy Golf Club.

The Bonnies' effort enabled them to move up two spots from their position after the first round. St. Bonaventure finished with a 36-hole total of 594. The host Midshipmen won their Invitational with a score of 582 followed by Rider at 585. Loyola took third at 586 followed by George Washington at 590 and Penn at 593. Emory tied the Bonnies at 594 with Villanova in eighth at 596, Seton Hall ninth at 599 and Bucknell 10th at 600.

Sophomore Ryan Swanson led the Bonnies for the second straight day, posting a one-over par 72 for a total of 146. Swanson tied for 12th in the field of 75 players. Senior Josh Anderson and freshman Brennan Payne both shot 73 on Saturday and also finished with identical tournament totals of 149, good for a tie for 22nd place. Junior Ben Howe and sophomore Andy Whalen each shot 75 on Saturday. Howe ended with total of 150 (t30th) and Whalen ended at 151 (t35th).

"It was a good effort by our guys that could have been even better because we definitely left a few shots out on the course," said St. Bonaventure coach Steve Campbell. "But we're starting to play a little better and this was progress against a very good field."

St. Bonaventure's next tournament competition will be at the University of Dayton Spring Invitational April 23-24.
