Baseball series at Duquesne delayed until Saturday
March 27, 2008
ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure baseball team's three-game series at Duquesne this upcoming weekend will now start on Saturday due to Pittsburgh receiving a few of days of rain. The series was slated to begin on Friday at 3 p.m., but has been pushed back to a doubleheader on Saturday scheduled to start at noon. The third game of the series will be played at its usual noon start on Sunday weather permitting. St. Bonaventure will enter is second consecutive Atlantic 10 series facing a team that's on a winning streak. The Bonnies put an end to Fordham's 10-game streak last weekend, taking two of three from the Rams. The Dukes will enter Saturday's first game on Saturday riding a seven-game win streak of their own. Both reigning Atlantic 10 Co-Pitchers of the Week will be showcased in game one as Jim Britton will square-off against Duquesne's Ryan Juran. St. Bonaventure took two of three from the Dukes in last year's series at McGraw-Jennings Field. The winning team in each game scored no more than four runs. A somewhat youthful Bonaventure batting lineup has been aided by the furious start of senior centerfielder Randy Moley. The Buffalo, N.Y. native leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks second in the nation in batting average (.594) and on-base percentage (.620). Moley will enter the weekend riding a 17-game hit streak and a 10-game streak with two or more hits.
