Moley named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week :: Senior's hit streak reaches 13 games

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure senior Randy Moley has been named the Atlantic 10 baseball Player of the Week for the period ending March 3 after compiling 18 hits over six games in Florida.

The reigning A-10 Student-Athlete of the Year, Moley went 18-of-27 from the plate over six games this past week for an impressive .667 batting average. Moley has a hit in all nine of the team's games this season and 13-straight, dating back to last year.

Moley's week was highlighted by back-to-back games in which he set career-hits for hits in a game. The Buffalo, N.Y. native went 5-for-6 with two doubles, three runs scored and an RBI in a 10-3 win over Mount St. Mary's. Just one day later, Moley broke his personal best with a 6-for-7 afternoon at the dish in an 11-inning win over Boston College. Three of Moley's six singles in the game drove-in a run, including an RBI single in the bottom of the 11th that brought in the game-tying run.

On the season, Moley leads the team with 25 hits in just 40 at-bats for a .600 batting average. The centerfielder also has seven multi-hit games, including five in a row, with 11 runs scored, three doubles and 13 RBI.

St. Bonaventure finished its Spring Break trip with a mark of 5-4, with a marquee win over ACC foe Boston College. The Bonnies will now have a week off from game action until they travel to Morgantown, W.V. for two games against the Mountaineers. Game one will be played on Tuesday, March 11 at 5 p.m.
