Patrick Pierson was appointed Sports Information Director at St. Bonaventure University on June 13, 2007. Pierson spent the previous three years as the Assistant Sports Information Director. Pierson will be responsible for the department's media and public relations efforts including the official Web site, www.gobonnies.com. He will also serve as the primary publicist for the nationally-recognized men's basketball program and will oversee St. Bonaventure's other 13 sports. Over the last three years, Pierson served as the chief publicist for the women's basketball program and the host SID for the annual St. Bonaventure Shootout in Elmira, N.Y. He also served as the media contact for 11 other sports and managed the athletic communications intern staff. In 2005, Pierson assisted with the redesign of the department's web site with College Sports TV-Online. Pierson is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and the ECAC-SID Association. A native of Frewsburg, N.Y., Pierson graduated from Robert Morris University in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in sport management. While at Robert Morris, he worked in the sports information office for three years. Pierson also served as a promotions intern for Pittsburgh's ESPN Radio 1250 and as a NFL Experience intern for the Pittsburgh Steelers for two years. |
